So today we are doing a forehead reduction, also known as a hair lowering procedure, as well as a forehead lift. Our patient's forehead is at 9 cm, meaning that the distance from in between the brow to the forehead or hairline is 9 cm. And she obviously wishes for that to be shorter. The normal for a female is about six to six and a half centimeters. So if I can remove an inch of skin and obviously fat from this area, I can advance her forehead forward. So to do that, we're gonna make an incision in front of the hairline. We're gonna keep some of the hair follicles. And once I get to her skull, I'm essentially gonna be elevating the scalp over the bone and then advancing it forward, and that's going to be our forehead reduction. She also wants a forehead lift because her brow position is at the rim of the orbit. This is called the superior orbital rim, and in a female you really want it to be higher by 1 to 1.5 centimeters. So what we're going to do is that we're going to utilize this incision again, go all the way to the bone, elevate everything to the brow, and then lift it up this way and reposition her brow at a higher position. So essentially using one incision to achieve two surgeries and two outcomes. One is to reduce the forehead and two is to do a forehead lift. There you go.

Okay, we're nine months out from a forehead lift and a forehead reduction, and she has the most beautiful scar that healed so well. It's hidden in her hair because her hair is growing through the incision. We did three treatments of Silphirm also, which is microneedling radiofrequency, which helps flatten and lighten the scar and also promotes hair growth. So she healed perfectly, and we're so happy with her results.

Surgery Results

TRANSCRIPT

So we are now finished with our forehead reduction and forehead lift and as you can appreciate her brows are actually um elevated and reshaped and they're about two centimeters above the superior orbital rim, which is here we know that they're gonna drop by about a half a centimeter so this is really planning for a perfect result at about six months. And obviously we've reduced her forehead by about one inch and her forehead height is now 6.8 centimeters which is within a normal range for a female patient, there you go.

5 Months Follow Up

TRANSCRIPT

So. Look how beautiful this forehead reduction looks. I am so excited, and I'm so excited that she agreed to have her video taken. Five months ago, we did a brow lift and a forehead reduction, removing about an inch of forehead skin and advancing her scalp forward. And since then, she has had two sessions of Sylfirm, microneedling with Chelsea, and come, come closer. I mean, can you see the scar? Her hair is growing through it. And her hair is growing through the scar and you can barely see the scar. You really have to come close and you can still have difficulty appreciating it. And this will get better because she's here to have another cell phone therapy and we expect more hair to grow through the scar. And there you go. Perfect results.
