Patient Details
This patient in her early 40s came to Dr. Siamak Agha at The Aesthetic Centers in Newport Beach seeking correction of significant abdominal laxity and an overhanging pannus that developed after weight changes and pregnancies. She wanted a smoother, lifted abdominal contour and a more defined waistline.
To achieve this, Dr. Agha performed a Plus-Size Extended Tummy Tuck, a comprehensive abdominoplasty designed for patients with more pronounced abdominal excess. After infiltrating 1,000 cc of tumescent fluid, he began by contouring the waist through flank liposuction, removing 500 cc of fat from each side to narrow and debulk the waistline.
He then elevated the abdominal flap to the upper abdomen, released the umbilicus, tightened the abdominal muscle wall from the ribcage to the pubic rim, and excised the extended pattern of excess tissue. This allowed for correction not only of the central abdomen but also the lateral excess that contributes to a wider midsection.
Her postoperative photos show a dramatic improvement: the pannus is removed, the abdomen appears significantly flatter, and the waist contour is noticeably slimmer, with smoother transitions from the front to the sides.
This transformation highlights how a Plus-Size Extended Tummy Tuck can restore abdominal support, reduce bulk, and reshape the waist for patients with substantial abdominal and flank laxity.
